THE POWER AND THE BEAUTY OF A FOCUSED LIFE

One of the things that I like so much about the Book of Proverbs is the ability of the wisest man who ever lived,(I believe, apart from Christ), to give instructions that can apply to everyone and anyone in spite of their age and time of existence.
In the Book of Proverbs chapter 4 generally and especially verses 20-27, we can read the most profound instructions from a father to his son, on how to have a focused and thereby a successful life.
Paying attention to the word of God
In verse 20-22(AMP) of the Book of Proverbs, we read as follows:
“20 My son attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings.
21 Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart.
22 For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh”.
These three verses of scripture bring out what I will call-the what, where, and the why, of the word of God.
Concerning the what, the wise man by the Holy Spirit tells you and I how precious the most important commodity-ever is. Why do I call it a commodity, because the Bible says-Buy the truth and sell it not!
And so He instructs us to go for the most important thing and pay attention to it and hear it all the time.
Concerning the where of the word of God, He tells us to store it in our hearts or spirits. The human spirit is the Centre of man, and the word of God is the raw material for building up the human spirit. In the Book of Acts, we read, Acts chapter 20 and verse 32:
“32 And now brethren: I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance amongst them who are sanctified”.
So it takes the word stored in your spirit, to build you up, but it also takes the word to renew your mind. The Bible tells us in the Book of Romans chapter 12 and verses 1-2, that if your mind is not renewed, you will not know the different phases or types of the will of God.
Lastly on the instructions concerning the word, let us look at the why of the word of God: verse 22 of the same scriptures tells us that the word of God gives life to those who find it, and is medicine to all their flesh.
What does He mean by the word of God giving life to those who find it? The word of God, is anointed, the word of God carries creative and healing power. If the word of God has the ability to create life, it sure has the ability to sustain life.
The Bible tells us in the Book of John chapter 1 that the word of God was here right from the beginning, and all things were made by him, without him was not anything made that was made.
Jesus went on and said, “The words that I speak to you they are spirit and they are life”!
Therefore, it is easy to see that the word of God is the giver and sustainer of all life!
Guarding your heart or spirit against the interference of negative influences.
Again in the next verse, which is verse 23, we read another very important instruction as follows:
“23 Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance, and above all that you guard, for out it flow the springs of life”.
This scripture is very important, the heart here refers to your spirit, and your mind is the doorway to your spirit. Therefore whatever goes on in your mind, affects your spirit because it will eventually find its way into that place if care is not taken.
The mind is the battleground; devils are able to insert things into your mind, if you let them. They can suggest for you to go and sleep with someone not your spouse, and if you are not careful, you will stomach it. They can tell you that you will never be healed because God does not love you, and you will believe it. These days, we are told that there are mind reading satellites, and occultism has extended to the mind and is now wreaking havoc in many places.
Occult mind readers are able to search out secrets and can harm you if you not grounded in the word of God, based on the apparently true things that they can fling out from your mind.
Avoiding the evil tongues
As you continue to read, He continues to instruct via the wise man in chapter4 and verse 24:
“24 Put away from you false and dishonest speech, and willful and contrary talk, put far from you”.
I love the way the King James Version of the Bible wrote this part, it tells you to put away from you, the froward mouth and to stay away from perverse speech.
Now putting the two scriptures together, it means to put away from you, in terms of either you speaking falsely or in a dishonest manner, or you hearing it from somebody else.
It equally means that we should not allow those who speak foul and immoral language or talk to hang around us speaking vile and foul things that will eventually find their way into your heart or mine, and corrupt us or corrupt the anointing inside us.
The necessity: why you ought to be focused, persistent and consistent.
The last three verses from the eight verses of scripture mentioned above, lay emphasis on why you and I should be focused in all that we do, let us look at them (25-27):
“25 Let your eyes look right on [with fixed purpose], and let your gaze be straight before you.
26 Consider well the path of your feet, and let your ways be established and ordered aright.
27 Turn not aside to the right hand or to the left; remove your foot from evil”.
In life there are many ways that the devil strives to distract us. The enemy comes from or through our friends, as well as through our enemies, to throw things at us. He never gives up on this. If you have never been fought left and right by the wicked, in an effort to push you off from your divine destiny and purpose, you will never know what am talking about.
If you have not yet encountered people whom what they have can never be enough for them, what things they have achieved in their lives are never enough for them, and the devil tells them that unless they take away the one God gave you, they are nothing. These are people some of who are in our churches, but they cannot recognize the voice of the devil, neither can they discern that they are deceived and going to hell because of their folly, are those you and I need to be very careful with.
You and I need to be careful how we let the devil talk to us or to our destiny through them, because it matters who you listen to and respond to.
In another important scripture, the wise man says to us: When sinners entice you, consent thou not, that is in Proverbs chapter 1 and verse 10:

“1 My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not”KJV.

Christmas is a beautiful time we love to celebrate yearly, but most people are yet to understand why Jesus had to come in the first place. In this revealing message, Dr Chidi Peters reveals deep truths concerning the creation before Adam, the fall and the defeat of Lucifer, the recre ation of the World, the call of Abram and the revelation of the gospel to him. , Prophecies about the birth of Christ, his coming, and the restoration of the life of glory. Thank you Lord Jesus for coming to our rescue!
.

WHY WE NEEDED THIS DELIVERER!

Over two thousand years ago in the little town of Bethlehem Judah, Christ (the messiah) was born as a baby in a manger. He was conceived through the word of an angel-Gabriel that stands in the presence of God. This child who was born to a virgin –Mary, was destined to change the course of humanity forever.

The prophets of God right from one of Israel’s greatest prophets and deliverer of old by the name of Moses, had prophesied about the coming of this blessed child. In the book of Deuteronomy chapter 18 and verse 15, re-iterated by Peter in Acts chapter 3 and verse 22, Moses prophesied about the coming of this savior as follows:

22-For Moses truly said unto the fathers, “A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you”.

God had earlier spoken to Abraham the father of faith, concerning the curse that was upon all mankind because of sin, that this curse will be reversed, and the earth shall be blessed through his own seed.

Adam disobeyed God in the garden when he ate the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and submitted his will to Satan. Thus sin or disobedience crept into the earth especially upon mankind of whom Adam was the first and the father. As a matter of fact the devil had earlier inherited sin and the curse that follows it by disobeying God and trying to take over authority from Him. He was ruling the pre-Adamite world and traded with the kings of the nations that were before Adam. He had fooled a third of the angels in heaven that he would completely defeat God and His loyalists and take over the ruler ship of the entire universe.

Satan failed in his mission, Michael God’s Army General in command of the loyal forces of heaven, whipped the devil and a third of the angels and cast them out of heaven, and they landed here on earth total stripped of all glory and lost their bodies in the process, but retained a little of their spiritual power, especially those of coercion and deceit. That was their first defeat which took place in heaven.

Then that pre-Adamite man who was not made in God’s image might have fallen into the devil’s deceit

or his antics, and out of His fierce anger, the Lord destroyed the whole earth. That was the first destruction before the re-creation, and Noah’s flood. In Jeremiah chapter 4 and verses 23-26 we read:

23-“I beheld the earth, and lo, it was without form and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

24-I beheld the mountains and lo they trembled and all the hills moved lightly.

25-I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled

26-I   beheld, and lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord and by His fierce anger”.

God decided to make man in His image-that was this Adam. He breathed into Adam the breath of life, and Adam became a living soul. He then anointed this Adam, He said to Adam, “Be fruitful and subdue the earth”, thus and anointing for dominion, ruler ship, kingship and multiplication came upon Adam.  Adam who was made in the image of God lost that authority to dominate the earth when he obeyed Satan through the weakness of his wife-Eve to eat the forbidden fruit of the knowledge of good and evil.

Satan who came to the earth defeated and shamed, now received a new authority-he was now going to rule over the earth, because Adam gave it all to him. He then took of the fallen soldiers that came down with him, and placed the former generals among them over the atmosphere, in the second heaven in various cities and nations as principalities, to enforce the curse upon the nations.

Adam’s mistake in submitting to the devil brought upon mankind the curse of sin which include-sickness, poverty, failure, shame, reproaches, defeat, unfruitfulness, slavery, losses, untimely death and so on and so forth.

God was disappointed and displeased because he loved man whom he had made so much and did not like man’s new predicament. He had to work a way out fast to enable Him redeem man. He sought for a man amongst men.

One day He saw a man named Abram who lived with his parents in the Ur of the Chaldeans in the region of Mesopotamia. He called Abram who had no child and bore the name of exalted father. He said to Abram, “Get thee out of thy own country, and from amongst your own kindred to a new place that I will show you” , and he obeyed.

This simple act of obedience by this man-Abram was all that God needed to know that He was on His  way to restoring man’s lost glory, because through Adam we learn-That all have sinned and fallen short of glory.

Then one day, God decided to see from His friend Abram, if he will show Him something about what He plans to do in future concerning this redemption, which will be to have a son, and offer him as a sacrifice to take upon himself the sin of mankind. This is because of the scriptural principle which says, “Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin”. Therefore the only way God was going to meet the demands of justice would be by having his sinless son die on the cross to take up to sins of the world.

God therefore decided to test Abraham. He asked Abraham to go to one of the mountains of Moriah to offer up his only son-Isaac as sacrifice to God-remember that this Abraham had no child, but God visited him and promised him and later gave him one.

Again this Abram, now Abraham because God has changed his name-obeyed God and accepted to offer his only son as a sacrifice. God was satisfied that a man who had no previous example of this sought of obedience to a God he had not seen before could do this.

God then preached the good news-gospel to Abraham saying, “And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou has obeyed my voice”.

And in the book of Galatians, chapter 3 and verse 16 we read,

16-“Now to Abram and his seed were the promises made. He said not, and to seeds, as of many; but as of one, and to thy seed, which is Christ.”

This anointed one, together with his anointing, has brought to mankind-The blessing, as God had promised. Healing is now the bread of the children, through his poverty, we are now rich, and we are no longer in shame or defeat because he has given us back the glory-in John 17 and verse 22 we read as follows:

22- And the glory which thou gavest me, I have given them; that they may be one even as we are one:

This Jesus, our savior, is also now the second Adam. Whereas the first Adam who was also a son of God, was made living soul, this second Adam has been made-a life giving spirit, and he says, “I have come that they (you), might have life, and have it more abundantly”, because if any man shall come to him, “though he were dead, yet shall he live again”.

Spiritual death, has been defeated, and even the physical death has no more power-because Jesus defeated it and rose up from the grave, and said, “and these signs shall follow them that believe… heal the sick, cleanse the leapers, raise the dead”.

We also are now more than conquerors through Christ-hallelujah, thank you Lord Jesus for all that you have done for us.  Therefore, as we now wrestle with the devil, principalities and powers, the rulers of darkness of this world, the spiritual wickednesses in high places, and the demons, we already know who the victors are because of Jesus and what he has come and already done!

We shall not cease to celebrate this salvation that you have brought-by the anointing.

THE GREATNESS OF GOD

Have you ever imagined how big God is? Have you ever thought about His omnipotence and omniscience? What about His omnipresence? We were looking at His goodness the other time and we saw that He is not just good, He is goodness personified. Now let us look at His awesome greatness.

We cannot talk about God without looking into the Bible anytime we want to examine the character or nature of God. In the Book of Psalms chapter 93 and verse3 we read as follows:
3 “For the Lord is a great God and a great king above all gods”.
Again in the book of Deuteronomy chapter 10 and verse 17 we read as follows:
17 “For the Lord your God is the God of gods, and the Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty and terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:”
This portion goes on to explain that God is great, as well as mighty and terrible.
King David of Israel we all know was one man who saw God do great things. He saw God use a little Sheppard boy whom He (God) had anointed, to slay a lion, then a bear, and then a giant reputed to be the super champion of his own time, when he tried to defy the armies of the living God. God used him to do amazing things. He therefore by the Spirit of God tells us in the book of 1 Chronicles chapter 29 and verses 10 to12 as follows:
10 “Wherefore David blessed the Lord before all the congregations: and David said, Blessed be thou, Lord God of Israel our father, forever and ever.
11 Thine, O Lord  ,  is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in heaven and in earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou is exalted as head above all.
12 Both riches and honor come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great and to give streghnth unto all”.
These verses followed a series of events in the Bible during which David told the congregation of Israel that although he had desired to build God a temple, God had refused him because he-David, was not qualified. God Himself had chosen his son Solomon to build him a temple. The one whom the Lord had chosen was still a child. King David did not want a shabby work to be done because this God is a great God. He therefore decided to gather Israel  together so that they can give towards the building of the temple. When they had finished giving, he was amazed, excited and elated and spoke those beautiful but great and true words above, about the greatness of God.
Talking about the omnipotence of God, we see His power demonstrated in the creation of the World. The Bible tells us in the book of Genesis, that in the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth. Many of us have not yet understood the concept of the heavens.

THE MYSTERY OF THANKSGIVIGS.

The front side of folios 13 and 14 of a Greek ...
The front side of folios 13 and 14 of a Greek papyrus manuscript of the Gospel of Luke containing verses 11:50–12:12 and 13:6-24, P. Chester Beatty I (Gregory-Aland no. P 45 ). (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
There is a profound revelation about the power of gratitude and thanksgiving in the word of God! There is so much in the word especially in the life of Jesus(if you read the previous article),to support this. I will be using just one simple example from the book of Luke, chapter 17, and verses12-20.
In this portion of the scripture, ten lepers came to Jesus.
12-"And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:
13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Master, Jesus have mercy on us!
14 And when he saw them , he said unto them,Go shew yourselves unto the priests, and as they went, they were cleansed.
15 And one of them when he saw he was healed,  turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God!
16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving thanks, and he was a Samaritan.
17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed, but where are the nine?
18 There are not found that came to give glory to God, save this stranger.
19 And he said unto him, arise and go thy way, thy faith hath made thee whole."
The fact that only one of these lepers came back to the Lord to give thanks to him, was shocking to Jesus.
However, Jesus taught a great lesson here in that he restored wholeness to this man who was thankful.
His friends got healing, in that the germs which caused the leprosy were killed off, and the spirit of infirmity sustaining the disease was cast out.Their destroyed limb, toes, and fingers were probably not restored back.
I can however bet my life on it that this our friend who gave thanks to the Lord for his healing, experienced re creative miracles, restoring everything that he lost.

A LIFE OF LOVE, A LIFE OF DOMINION

A LIFE OF LOVE IS A LIFE OF DOMINION-

There is a profound scripture that is totally amazing to me.  It sounds philosophical, it sounds difficult to fathom, but it is very real.  In the book of 1 John Chapter 4 verses 8 and 16 we read a phrase that says, 'God is love', let’s look at the scripture: 1st John, 4:8 "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love".
1st John, 4:16 "And we have known and believed the love that God has for us.  God is love, and he who abides in love, abides in God, and God in him".
The Bible tells us that God is love, and this literally means that love is very natural with God.  Love is so much his nature that he cannot help but exude it, just as righteousness, faithfulness and justice are his nature.
THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT
Talking about love again, it is according to our Lord Jesus Christ the greatest commandment.  It ultimately replaced the Law of Moses to become the New and only commandment to the believer.  In Mark Chapter 12 and verse 28-31, we read about a Scribe who asked Jesus a very important question about love, and how Jesus answered him.
28 "And one of the Scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, 'which is the first commandment of all?
29 And Jesus answered him, the first of all the commandments is, "Hear, O Israel; the Lord Our God is one Lord:
30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this the first commandment.
31 And the second is like it, namely this; thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself.  There is none other commandment greater than these".
The man, who asked Jesus this question, was amazed at this wisdom and tremendous revelation His spirit immediately caught it, and he was totally satisfied.  Look at his response to the answer in verses 32 and 33 of the same chapter.
32 "And the Scribe said unto him, well, Master, thou has said the truth: for there is one God: and there is none other but he:
33 And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding, With all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices".
This is one of those few places, if there are any other where the Pharisees and scribes were satisfied with the ways of Jesus.  It is so easy to understand this because, if you love the Lord, you will obey him, and if you love your neighbor, you will never cheat on him or harm him, or rob him or betray him in any way.
Jesus talked about love again as a new commandment to his followers.
A NEW COMMANDMENT
Thus in the Book of John, Chapter 13 and verse 34, Jesus lends credence to the superiority of the commandment of love, to any other, as he instructs his disciples.  John 13 verse 34 –
34 –"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another."
I had earlier explained why, because it covers all the other commandments relating to our fellow human beings.
Then again, love is called or described as the greatest gift of all.  In 1st Corinthians chapter 13, the attributes of love are clearly written down and explained.  Love is superior to the gifts of healing, prophecy, speaking in tongues and interpretation, working of miracles, discerning of spirits etc. and yet there are so many today that are moving around, operating these gifts but have no love.  How sad!
THE GREATEST GIFT OF  ALL
Love is the greatest gift of all, because without love; you will not make heaven or you will be cast away from the presence of God at the last day.  I strongly believe that those who will come to the master on the last day and cry out, we worked miracles in your Name, we healed the sick in your name etc. and will be driven away, with the Lord saying to them get thee behind me or away from my presence you workers of iniquity, for I never knew you, are these gifted people who have lost the love of God
Some are callous, extort money from people, curse or stagnate innocent people who refuse to be controlled by them because they are gifted.  They will be shocked on the judgment day, if they don't truly repent.  That you have a gift of the Spirit does not mean that you have made it to the end, otherwise Jesus would not have said this, but many take it lightly, and live anyhow, though gifted.  Remember, to whom much is given, from whom much is required.

BECOMING A TRUE AND AN IMPACT MAKING DISCIPLE OF CHRIST

Do you realize that everyone who is a christian that is born again is actually a disciple or is called a disciple of Christ? I don't about you but most things that I have seen in my short life on earth so far, have both genuine and counterfeit types.

Would you please allow me to look naïve with this topic? Maybe you are one of those Christians who are satisfied with your spiritual life and walk with God. I can now understand why you think that this topic sounds childish. All the same before you draw your conclusions let us try again to define the key words. We will lay emphasis on three words-TRUE, IMPACT-MAKING, AND DISCIPLE.
DISCIPLE
The word disciple has many meanings, but the most important definition is the one I want to talk about next. A disciple is defined by the Encarta dictionary as a follower of a person or an idea, especially one who believes in and follows the teachings of a leader, a philosophy or a religion. Another definition of a disciple is one of the twelve original followers of Christ.
The word disciple can be seen in the Old Testament Book of Isaiah, chapter 8 and verse 16, and it goes as follows:
16 “Bind up the testimony, and seal the Law among my disciples…” ,
Here, the Lord God Almighty was speaking to all his followers through his servant Isaiah the Prophet, and He called them including me and you- disciples. This was a prophecy to ancient Israel though, and especially to His obedient followers in ancient Israel. However I believe that the first definition covers all of us who believe in Jesus Christ today, but were not originally amongst the first twelve and that makes this article applicable to everyone who is a Christian today!
TRUE
The word true is a very important word in our discussion- it has a number of meanings depending on what you are talking about. It could mean 1) to be real or correct-conforming with reality or fact. 2) Genuine (this is the most important word here)-it means not pretended, insincere or artificial. 3) Personally faithful-showing loyalty (faithfulness) to another person. 4) Committed-faithful to a cause, purpose or a religious belief.
There are probably up to ten other explanations of the meaning of the word true, but the above definitions are okay for the purpose of our discussion.
How then can somebody be a false disciple of Christ? Another person will say to me, once you are born again, you are a child of God and so can no longer be false or fake, but I have all the explanations to these questions or arguments from the word of God. Firstly, Judas was a disciple of a Christ and obviously a false disciple of Christ.
Judas Iscariot pretended to be a follower of the Master, simply because he was called by the Lord and was following the Lord, but his mind was not on the mission of the Lord. Judas was the treasure and he was only after the money. He stole money from the bag. This is the same place that many preachers and teachers and Christians live today. They will be willing to do anything because of money.
Judas’ greed latter drove him to sell the master for thirty pieces of silver and when his sin was exposed, he committed suicide. There are many Judases in the ministry and in our churches today who have sold themselves out to many different things to make money at the expense of their souls. Some have entered into certain strange covenants, to be performing spurious signs and wonders so as to deceive the gullible elect of Christ. These are some of the people to whom the Lord will say on the last day, “Get thee thence, I never knew you, ye workers of iniquity”.
Concerning these folks again we read in the book of Romans chapter 16 and verses 17 and 18, where we read as follows:
17 “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrines which ye have learned; and avoid them.
18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches, deceive the simple.”
Again concerning these false disciples of Christ, we read in the book of Philipians chapter 3 and verses 18 and 19, we read as follows:
18 “For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is their shame, who mind earthly things?”
These are the false disciples of Christ. There are Christians today who have destroyed so many other believers, their faith, finances, relationships, ministries, career/jobs. Yet they approve themselves as people who are ready for heaven. They have set up pastors and other Christians for destruction, and they have been doing these things happily, they think that they are on their way to heaven but they are the enemies of Christ and of His cross.
Someone will say, but how can you blame me, life is about survival of the fittest! If I have to survive in ministry by setting that other Pastor up so that the long hand of the law will catch up with him for mistakenly omitting some of his taxes, well if he goes to jail, he will lose his members to me and my church will triple in number. I have only tried to help our society to become a better one by exposing a criminal. This is a good idea, but is it really the best? God is seriously concerned about our motives.
Some preacher wants to bring down the image of his competitor? So decides to use an electronic device to get his picture while he is naked is his toilet and get some charlatans to publish and distribute it. When many people saw the leaflets showing the popular television preacher naked in his toilet, they were ashamed of the man and themselves, the preacher, and whosoever that they did not know tried to destroy him. They decided to stay away from him and his ministry.
Such are the things that we see the so called preachers do today so as dominate the land and drive out competitors. The reason for all this is the fact that the motives behind ministry today are not heaven, souls and the kingdom. The motives are more like money, wealth, popularity and fame, as well as influence and worldly glory.

THE GREATEST SECRET BEHIND LASTING SUCCESS

WASHINGTON - NOVEMBER 04: (L-R) Director of t...

Fear especially of man, or of bad days ahead, or of failure, fear of getting a disease or catching an infection can be very dangerous and are to be discouraged in it's entirerity. However I grew up hearing a very important phrase-'The fear of the Lord is the begining of wisdom'.

THE MYSTERY OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD (DIVINE HOLY REVERENCE)
This is the anchor, the pivot and the most important principle that is needed to conquer any devil, and to win any battle. The moment you combine this principle with faith, you can never lose or end up completely beaten by the enemy at any point in time. Let us see what the word of God says about this principle. First of all let us ask the most important question! What is the fear of the Lord? I always like the Bible definition of terms, and not my personal or some Professor’s definition because as always man’s wisdom is nonsense compared to God’s foolishness.
In the book of Proverbs, chapter 8 and verse 13 we read the definition of the fear of the Lord:
13 “The fear of the Lord, is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the forward mouth do I hate.”
These scriptures are self explanatory, it says that you cannot say that you fear God and at the same time love or pamper your sinful habits, and addictions, or still practice any forms of wickedness.
The second thing talked about here is pride- and that in scriptural terms means making yourself, or declaring yourself an authority and saying that what you have found out through science or education is now superior to what the ultimate authority, which is God almighty, has said in his word. A very simple example of this is the idea that a man marrying another man or a woman marrying another woman is not wrong, it is just because of the constitution, or the makeup of the individuals involved. We should therefore just allow them to be that way? god has made them? (‘Because I am sure that it is not God that did it). This has been proven to be wrong over and over again, because many homosexuals have had demons cast out of them, and after their deliverance, is today married to the opposite sex. Some of these people today, also now have a ministry to homosexuals, letting them know that they have been deceived by the devil, because God cannot lie.
Talking about the benefits of the fear of the Lord, it is the first preventive measure that a wise takes against trouble. Let us look at Psalm 128, and verses 1-6, because of space and time, we look at the first two verses, you check up the rest latter.
1 “Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways.
2 For thou shalth eat the labour of thine hands; happy shalth thou be and it shall be well with thee.”
If you read the rest of that Psalm, you see promises of fruitfulness, long life, and an enduring generation. Some other scriptures go on to illumine on the benefits of divine, holy and reverential fear of the Lord.  The best of these which I encourage you to read is Psalm 112.Others still are beautiful, for example in the book of Proverbs again, chapter 10 and verse 27, we read:
27 “The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened”
And again in Proverbs chapter 14 and verse 27, we read what looks like a re-enforcement of the above scripture:
14; 27 “The fear of the Lord is the fountain of Life, to depart from the snares of death”
This last scripture tells us that when our lives, businesses, family, relationships, jobs, whatever they may be, are threatened by death due to sickness or problem, life is guaranteed, if we fear God.
I love the word of God because there is no greater authority than it, so permit me to add one last scripture here, from Deuteronomy, chapter 5 and verse 29:
29 “O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children forever!”
God is telling us that this is the panacea for all our troubles. I think that common sense even tells us that if can remember that God is also a consuming fire as much as He is a loving father every time we are tempted to enjoy the pleasures of sin (disobedience to God) for a season, we stay away from sin and we are blessed.
